There is an exciting opportunity for a senior data analyst to join one of the worlds leading consultancies with a view to part-take in a series of challenging data analytics projects.
This senior data analyst position is within a growing team, the aim is to turn data into reliable information to allow clients to make better business decisions, assist clients in improving financial and operation data to enhance decision making, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Job responsibilities will vary by project. Examples of job responsibilities include:
- Responsible for manipulating large data files, then transforming the data into business information that helps clients fulfill strategic objectives.
- Search for meaningful patterns, trends, and relationships by sifting through large amounts of data and explain the findings to people with varying backgrounds.
- Documenting code logic and procedures performed.
- Preparing executive level presentation to facilitate discussion of analysis.
- Develop solutions and recommendations for improving data integrity issues
- Develop and code business rules to support risk based analysis and/or risk based modelling
- Contribute to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel
- Understand engagement as it relates to client's business
- Assume supervisory responsibility for components of engagements
- Contribute to engagement planning and ensure that deliverables meet workplan objectives and quality standards
- Recognise and communicate opportunities to sell "add-on" work
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- BS/BA in Economics, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related area
- 3-5 years data mining and analytics experience in the Retail, Insurance, Telecommunications or financial services industries
- Demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of data analytics services in a professional services or large corporate environment
- Experience with MS Access and Excel, and programming languages such as VBA and/or SQL to develop ad-hoc tools and queries/reports
- Demonstrated ability with assisting businesses with deriving value from existing data
- Optional - Experience with web based technologies to enable data presentation and capture
- Essential - SQL Server experience
