Senior C++ Developer (EMEA Telco services) – a client facing SSE role with a software product company growing quickly – this role is about
- agreeing the project requirements with the customer (Tier 1 and Tier 2 Telecom operators
- designing and implementing the solution
- writing functional design specifications and code when required (C++ on UNIX)
- create and review test plans of large modules and systems and solving customer issues on implementations and integrations.
- work on multiple problems of diverse scope where refinement of design/requirements
- planning and delivering project tasks on time and to budget;
- leading design activity of modules
- be proactive in a development team and mentoring junior engineers.
- a degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 4-6 years experience in complex design and development of software solutions (c++ and UNIX)
- experience of leading / mentoring a small team of engineers
- delivery of complex products to multiple customers (in telecommunications or similar).
- hands on software development expertise in a UNIX environment (preferably Solaris & HP-UX) using C++ and C and some database technology experience (preferably Oracle).
- experience working on multi-threaded applications and scripting skills (Shell, tcl, DCL) and ideally some experience with XML.
- Previous client facing experience and enjoy solving customer problems face to face
- Be available for foreign travel (short hop) around EMEA around 25-30%
